1 ObserverIP / 2 Outdoor Sensor Arrays ??
« on: June 22, 2017, 10:45:39 AM »
Simple Question:  Can a single OpserverIP Module receive signals and report to the Ambient Weather web site dashboard from 2 separate Ambient Weather 5 n 1 multi sensor arrays (can I connect 2 arrays to the Ambient dash board with only 1 Observerip?) ... or do I need 1 Module for Each Array?  Thanks.

Aren't you mixing brands here? I thought the 5 in 1 was an Acurite product and the Observer IP was Ambient.

But then I am just learning, so probably wrong.

No, you would need a separate OberseverIP for each array.

Just be aware that if using two of the same model (ex: WS-1200) the Observer may sync with the different indoor sensors if they are close together.

I have two different models, WS-1001 and WS-0900 and each has its own ObserverIP.  There was an issue that one ObserverIP keep grabbing the indoor sensor of the other unit.   The way around was to one sync one array and sensors to an ObserverIP at a time.  Then put the batteries in the second unit and sensors and sync with the second OberserverIP.

The dashboard goes by the MAC address of each unit.

Have you ever compared the indoor and outdoor temps of the WS-1001 and WS-0900?  How do the 2 systems (4 units: 2 indoor / 2 outdoor) compare?

Yes they are very close to each other after calibrating, however the ws-0900 temp is currently spiking during certain times of the day which I have to look into do to the siting of the array and external sensor.

The WS-1001 does seem to perform better and is more consistent imo.
