I only had a few drops crossing town yesterday - nothing at the house. Windy today with a top of 31MPH at 3:30P. Advisory still in place and looks like a nice weekend with 80ish highs and upper 40s for lows.

The week looks more like fall - figures, the week after the balloon fiesta.  #-o

Our horses are starting to grow out their fuzzy winter coats.  So it's officially fall.

we got 0.55" of "winter" rain out of that last system that rolled through, over two days.  low of 40 deg the other night.  dewpoints are staying in the high 30's though, so we probably won't see REAL cold nights for a while yet.  fyi, historically my earliest freeze is October 12th, my latest freeze is November 29th.  quite a range.

My usual first freeze has a bit of range in my data. My earliest was 2008 on OCT 23 (30.6) and the only other OCT freeze was 2009 - OCT 29 (31.5) but I only go back to 2007.

2007 - NOV 23 - 29.3
2008 - OCT 23 - 30.6
2009 - OCT 29 - 31.5
2010 - NOV 10 - 31.5
2011 - NOV 03 - 30.4
2012 - coming soon... last day to see 32 - MAR 20 - 25.3

So far, this month has my lowest at 44.5 on the 14th.

We've come close to freezing here already this week. I don't think we'll see the 32*F mark until closer to Halloween. Usually, the first few days of November start off around 32*F.

——

On a side note, they're doing a prescribed burn north of here in the Jemez, put on a lot of smoke across the area. And someone set the west side of the Sandia's on fire a few nights ago…not sure if it's been put out…but it made an interesting appearance all day and last night.

Smoke isn't very visible today…no indication if it's still burning or if it's been put out.

Hope those fires are taken care of by now.

Looks like my first 30s of the season might be coming up this weekend.

The Jemez prescribed burn is out, as is the fire on the Sandia's.

Had some wind yesterday…bottomed out at 38*F last night…it's only getting colder through tonight…Friday night's lows are in the upper 20s.

Brrrrr.

dewpoints over here have plunged into the teens.  that and clear skies should mean I'll see the first lows in the 30's.

That Denver freeze should be coming our way soon. It's already 65 here with only a 75 high today. Looks like I should start getting together my 'close the swamper kit' this week.

Dropped to 28*F on Friday coupled with a Freeze Warning. Shut down the coolers for the house and the rental on Friday afternoon.

So far, lows seem to be warming up to around the lower 40s…about right for this time of year up here.

I love cold weather. Now it needs to snow.

35.5 yesterday and 38.3 today for lows. It warmed up to 75.4 today but dropped to 60 3 hours later. Still not ready to closer the swamper yet. I haven't used it at all but you never know...

I wonder if this one was also a prescribed burn…  #-o

Bite your tongue.  It can be as cold as it wants, but we don't need no stinkin snow!

Well, wouldn't you know it. I send the station out to Davis for a massage because the long term looked decently calm and now they're calling for maybe rain, 40+MPH winds, sub-freeze temps between tomorrow and Monday...  ](*,)

Had winds that I guess to be 30MPH or so and some sideways rain. First rain since Sept 28 and no bucket to catch it with... :-(

Collected 1/10th of an inch of rain this afternoon. We don't have wind yet, though tonight is expected to be breezy w/ slight chance of rain. The wintery fun starts tomorrow night. And it might not amount to much (though I do recall early-mid Novembers in my life where it snowed about 3" or less before Thanksgiving.)

32*F right now. And the furnace is set to 68*F.

Blankets everywhere.

And tonight calls for 30% chance snow w/ a low of 25*F.

It's beginning to look a lot like Thanksgiving.  #-o

Nice and windy most of yesterday and temps dropped to upper 30s last nite (per: nearby station). Freeze warning issued for tonite with upper 20s called for.

Guess I should go up and close the swamp cooler today after I watch my Giants get crushed by the Bungles. Sun room still in the 80s so not too bad inside yet.

Some 20s the last 2 or 3 overnites, mid/upper 50s daytime but no winds. I did manage to at least get the swamp cooler damper in and sealed up Sunday so I could run the heat if needed this week. It was.

70s 'casted for the next few days so I'll finish closing the swamper and get the pool closed

Mild days, cold nights, to be expected this time of year. It's closing in on the end of November and I haven't seen snow yet. I have a grave feeling about this...

NWS forecast up here is calling for upper 20s/lower 30s for lows, upper 50s/lower 60s for highs.

Feels like November to me.

Yeah, something stinks. Something is up, I tell ya!

I was just thinking the other day that it actually feels like 'Fall' this month. It's usually warmer or colder right about now but it's consistently Fallish.
