 ](*,)

Huh?

I think he's kicking himself for multiple predictions, is freaked out from floods because storms in New Mexico can get downright scary, and he's mad because…well that part I can't figure out.

I don't understand the left-right combo he's talking about. I think he also meant heavy rain dumps don't do us any good. This is the desert. Ever take a leak on the side of a sand filled ditch? It doesn't seep into the ground, it just rolls right off. (Of course you know that, but I'm just using that as an example).

Actually, the text was from a post of mine in April. Guess it was missing the quote tags but the graphics in response puzzled me.

And there it is... one hundred days!

NOTE: Accumulation for 02-05-2011 is snow melt from 02-02-2011 snowfall

I think the all-time record is 106 days but that's for El Paso. Looks like easy money as the only thing in the forecast is (surprise) WIND.

We're expecting thunderstorms later this week…

Yes, a wet summer it just might be.

Actually saw some measurable precip today...about 2/10ths of a inch. That's something, but it ain't a whole lot.

Interesting thunderstorm clouds we saw today too...nothing came from them but a few drops on the ground, but it was an interesting sight.

It rained up to 6" in the Oklahoma City area.  I was real envious of them since it only rained .73 here.  So maybe around here the drought is still on.

That would be a deluge down here. I haven't seen 0.2" or more since Oct 4th (0.35"). In fact, add it ALL up from Oct 5th to date and it's still less (0.18").

It's going to be real weedy after my first rainfall...

This year, we are running a surplus of 5 inches in the rain department, but isnt the whole Mississippi River system likewise?

We got 0.75 inches of rain in about an hour a couple of days ago....

....and Chris! Your ants make me think that there are ants in my computer!

More wind today...and it's a sad day across the Midwest...more tornadoes this time impacting Oklahoma. Second outbreak of the year? Indeed.

I want rain.

That depends what you call an "outbreak"; there have been many days with at least 15 tornadoes reported in a fairly concentrated area.

Good luck with your rain; maybe I'll air mail you some from WV!

Hit 93*F at 4:27PM today...windy...replaced swamp cooler with a new one today...and got burnt. What a fun weekend so far. (Yes I'm being heavily sarcastic here - I will say that it IS nice to have cold air in the house today...yesterday was ridonculous).

94 and windy (as usual) down here as well. 95 the 2 days prior. T-or-C hit 100 yesterday as did Juarez and I'm sure to hit upper 90s tomorrow. 11PM and it's still 80.

HOWEVER - something I haven't seen in the Fcast in recently memory - wait for it... 20% chance of precip on Tuesday. nite.

I doubt I'll be in that 20% Fcast area.

CHRIS - glad to hear you have cold air coming out of the vents now! Makes quite a difference when it's working!

This is the desert. We generally don't look at it that way. We just say "yay!!! RAIN!!!!"  :-P

And usually, our best thunderstorms out here form from a forecast between 20% and 40%, usually in the afternoon...it rains like crazy. Sometimes.

Our chances of rain up here start Monday night, go through Thursday...

With a high of 90. This should be interesting. But I'm so tired of this f***ing wind. It's not like my backyard needs another three feet of sand against the SE corner.

Southern and western New Mexico...and sometimes eastern portions of the state about 60 or so miles out from Albuquerque see blowing dust if the winds are high enough. It's real bad where Cienega lives, especially when thunderstorms dump a lot of rain that dries before hitting the ground...or when there are microbursts, which occur frequently in my observations down there. Up here in Albuquerque, not so much...not unless we get a powerful cold front that has wind speeds past 40 mph

It's 87 here...and windy.

And our swamp cooler tried to turn on (since it's hooked up to a thermostat instead of the usually rotary switch) and kept overloading. Weird. We flipped it to high and it kicked right in.

Dust storms...

Along I-10, there are many stretches running thru open range that have caution signs announcing zero visibility possible during dust storms. I've been in one and they weren't kidding. While I was driving east one year from my old home in Vegas, there was this huge brown wall up ahead as wide as you could see. By the time I was in it, I could barely see the front of my car. Needless to say, I pulled off as soon as I could to wait it out.

20% isnt very high.....Isolated thunderstorms?

For me, being in the El Paso broadcast region, that usually means somewhere in that region there's a 1 in 5 chance some rain might fall based on past history with similar conditions. That can boil down to cloud burst 40 miles away...

But just seeing ANY% chance and not the wind turbine icons is pretty exciting

It's now centered on TUES nite and mentions 'Severe T-storms'.
