Enhanced Risk - 3/31/16
« on: March 31, 2016, 09:23:16 AM »
Got a bullseye of an Enhanced Risk over the lower Mississippi River Valley today. Looks like some showers are rolling through their now, but some clearing will begin across that region in a couple of hours. Could be a big tornado day down there.

Rain and flooding will be the far larger issue, though. Plus, those areas do not need any rain at all. I know of folks in and south of Monroe, La that are STILL boating to their homes and some of the waters were/are still rising.

That's a good point. It seems like every day there is an areal flash flood warning going on in southeastern Arkansas. I'm sure today's rains are not going to help that region.

According to the WPC, it looks like the biggest threat for flooding will be across portions of northern Mississippi and Alabama.

I've been watching the storm reports add up on NWS Chat from the Nashville (OHX) WFO. They have been busier than a bee this afternoon and tonight!  I can only imagine how the Alabama WFO's are doing!

No ill measures intended but I'm glad it's stayed below us  =D>

Overall, for an Enhanced Risk, 4 total tornado reports is not a bad day.
