MADIS Surface Map QC Codes
« on: August 29, 2018, 07:03:49 PM »
Does anyone know what all the MADIS QC Codes stand for?

Go to the MADIS Surface Map
https://madis-data.ncep.noaa.gov/MadisSurface/

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Then zoom in and hover over any station. You'll see a chart similar to this. What do all the QC Letters stand for?
I've seen V, S, C, and Z. I can assume Z means zero or something like that as I'm not reporting that metric on my station. But I still don't know what the other letters mean and there is no legend on the map. Tried reading the documentation and there is no mention. Tried Googling and nothing.

Some ideas. Very Good, Satisfactory, Caution, Zero....but I'd like some confirmation as to what they mean and what the hierarchy is.
