Gaps in monthly WU data.
« on: July 23, 2019, 08:24:07 PM »
My history on my PWS is totally screwed right now.

Here is my Daily Graph:

Totally normal daily graph.

But there here is my weekly:

You will notice the data cleanly stops where it crosses into the night bar. It has no data for today even though the dailly graph shows it fine.

Now, worst of all, my monthly graph:

As you can see I am losing huge swaths of data. I saw this happening originally and checked myself that all the daily data is logging perfectly. It seems like WU is just randomly deciding to discard data?

Anyone know why this could be happening or any possible fixes? I'm losing all my historical goodness!

Ah I looked through the bugs before posting and saw that, but this seemed like it was for the summary table. I see he kind of mentions days missing which to me would be the far more concerning facet of that bug than the table. I am missing huge amounts of data

The Summary being incorrect stems from the missing data. It is the same issue. The problem isn't on your end. There is nothing you can do other than hope that WU fixes the issues and for you to send your data somewhere else than WU.

Sure....besides WU there are some Acurite consoles that will upload to myAcurite.com also. If your console does not upload there, then consider adding the Acurite Access.

Besides myAcurite.com you could expand the capabilities of your station by running one of the following applications to capture data from your station. You can run Acuparse or WeeWx and capture network packets that are intended to go to WU. Once these applications have the WU data they can then upload data to numerous online weather services like: CWOP, AWEKAS, PWSweather.com, WeatherCloud, Windy, MetOffice WOW, Windguru...and more...including to your own personal website using various templates to simplify the matter. Realize that these application capture all of the WU data before it leaves your network....so you get all of the data directly from your station before WU has a chance to mess the data up and lose days of data.

I have just noted this for my WU account: six consecutive days of missing data in this last month. I also upload to Weather Cloud and Metoffice WOW -- that six days of data is there. So the issue is definitely with WU.

WU is experiencing API data issues, likely cause by a combination of:
1) monthly data not making it into monthly queries (July, 2019) and
2) excessive Akamai caching of API results for some queries (Today, some daily data and monthly data).

I hope they work it out soon...

That's a pretty big "issue".  I'm seeing 11 out of 28 days of data for July for my PWS, less than 50%.  Another I check 1100 miles away is showing 18 of 28, better but still pretty horrid.

I've got about 9 days missing. Strange how it isn't consistent for anyone.

Found this on the WU API forum...

Hi, Ul Ke!

This is a problem we know about and have in the queue to address.  I hope you will be patient with us while the programmers work.

Thank you!

At least it appears this is something they can fix and the data hasn't fallen into the bit bucket.
