Orographic Lift
« on: February 14, 2013, 10:35:06 AM »
My cams caught a nice example of orographic lift a couple of days ago.  We see this from time to time, but this was a pretty good occurrence.  Professor Cliff Mass from the University of Washington posted it on his blog today:  http://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2013/02/island-clouds.html

Thought I'd share,

See that here in SEAK all the time. Just never film it as it is common place and no one thinks anything of it. Other common thing here are the mirages of the islands off in the distants.
