Hit the upper 70s today…two days ago we were barely hitting above the mid 50s…it's going to be a p***-warm winter.

Here in the D.C. area now, it's downright cold. We always manage to get a strong blast of Arctic air right around the point-in-time which the calender flips into November (Mother Nature sure has a thing for dates). At my location we're already right around freezing, and I honestly believe we'll hit the 20's tonight. There was a Wind Chill advisory regarding low temperatures as well, with the WC factor expected to run into the mid-to-lower 20's Sunday. I'm loving it to be honest, because it's the first taste of Winter (It's not unusual for us to get some snow flakes by Thanksgiving)! It'll moderate somewhat by the end of the week, but I'm appreciating the crisp, clear air  \:D/

Oh yeah, FYI this pattern is so far following right along our normal seasonal climate fluctuation. Sometimes the colder November is, the warmer January will be, but it really depends upon quite a bit.

It mid nigth 43 degrees and raining sideways...... Just like it does all winter long.  Lows been forming just off shore and keeping things active here. Maybe mid November will  give us an break for an week or so and then back to the old cycle. So far no snow at all 2010. Last snow fall here was in 2009.

John

Maybe you'll get a dusting by Thanksgiving.  :-)

It's colder at my house (in Lexington, Ga.) than in Chicago this morning.  28.7º on the NWS temperature indicator @ 6 AM.  I was expecting 31º and now wish I'd wrapped my outside water pipes.  Last week's temperature drop already caused a visit by the plumber for the old pipes under the house.

Expecting windy conditions to develop rapidly this afternoon through tomorrow…and then snow on Thursday night…temperatures will drop from a high of 77 today to 52 on Friday. Overnight lows will drop from the mid to upper 30s into the upper 20s. NWS in Albuquerque says not a whole lot of snow can be expected on Veterans Day.
