WS-1200-IP temperature issue
« on: August 19, 2017, 11:09:56 AM »
Here's a interesting one - my WS-1400-IP is correct during the day, but when it cools off
at night it reads about 1.5-2.0 degrees too low according to both my outdoor thermometer, and surrounding stations.

Calibration is set to 0 for now, but setting it to something else will affect one or the other, so i'll have a correct nighttime temp but a wrong daytime temp...

Do you guys have a suggestion for corrections at night, vs day?

It is not possible.

Note, however, that you can not compare your measurements with other stations uncritically. Placing the sensor up to 1 meter higher than other stations makes you have other measurements. Measurements also affect the surface over which the sensor hangs or bends between buildings. It's not like there is a uniform temperature in the area ...   ;)

Right, relying on other station readings is hit or miss.
But my thermometer is reading 2 deg. above what the station is registering...maybe lower it a little?  :-?

I compared your station with KAZGLEND91 on 18.08.2017 and for example for incidental hours 6.04 am - 22.1 C and for 4.03 am 23.0 and 23.5 C. Given the distance and other type of station it can be said that these are Same measurements.

That was the time I was adjusting to match the other stations. Since then i've given up and just reset it back to defaults, if you want to take a look at the data since yesterday go ahead.
