« on: August 26, 2015, 07:02:11 AM »
I noticed that when I go to the cwop page that display's my weather data it say's that there is no radar site within 150 miles at the bottom of the page. this is wrong Wakefield Va Is a NOAA doppler radar site thats maybe 20 miles away is there anyway to update this radar information

I don't think the coordinates that you are sending are in VA more like the south pacific.   Check your coordinates.   You are sending  3700.00S/07700.00E   This says you are in the southern hemisphere.

I believe for a lat/long change you ahve to send an e-mail to them requesting the change.  Go to your summary page - http://weather.gladstonefamily.net/site/your CWOP ID Here and you cn enter the coordinates and submit the requested change.  I think that is how I did it once.

You are trying to change the wrong thing. You need to change the coordinates that you have entered into the software so that when it sends the data it sends the correct coordinates this is totally different from what you told findu your coordinates were.

This data stream is wrong you must change it what ever software you are using

Let 30's is also south of the equator. For where you say h you are you need north for last and west for long.

Your coordinates are not detailed enough.   You are not down to minutes and seconds.  What you have is like sending   3 oclock when you really mean 3:32 and 25 seconds

Don't know here is my data stream and it has    more digits.

I can not see your location map because you do not have quality control enabled.

If you did there would be a map like this.

There is no such thing as "-76.95 west longitude", you are either of east or west.

Please disregard the - symbol for my west longitude I remember someone stating that when I designate the west as longitude that its already taking factoring the  - into my coordinate. Does it take a while for CWOP to reflex the change in the program setting's before it updates the radar map :!:

I think you are confused on what type of coordinates to enter into the program.

It is looking for LORAN or GPS coordinates.     Here is my info from the CWOP page  notice there are three types of coordinates.

Latitude: 31° 43' 3" N (deg min sec), 31.7175° (decimal), 3143.05N (LORAN)
Longitude: 109° 52' 45" W (deg min sec), -109.8793° (decimal), 10952.76W (LORAN)
Elevation: 1528 metres (5013 feet) -- validated against 1529 metres (5016 feet) from NED 1/3rd arc-second: Western United States
Location: Elfrida, AZ, US

This conversion page may help you.

http://www.csgnetwork.com/gpscoordconv.html

My entries would be 31 degrees 43.5 min   109 degrees 52.76 min

Look at this page.   If you had quality control enabled and could see the evaluation of your station you would be getting a similar error.  Look at the red under APRS location.

http://weather.gladstonefamily.net/site/E0480

The CWOP reporting system is based on and uses the Amateur Position Reporting System (APRS) protocols and  formats. It was originally designed for position reporting and not WX reporting.

For a position reporting system to work as designed it is kinda important the the coordinates reported be accurate.

Yes, I see you on the inactive list, too.  But, your data seems to be updating ok.

I really wish I could help you on getting your station off the bridge.  You know that having some type of electronic device on the bridge will most likely cause a couple of dozen big black Cadillac Escapades with blacked out windows and registered to the NSA to surround your house...don't you?

It seems to me you are making a simple thing way to hard.

What is the location of your station  degrees min and seconds?

The location you are reporting is not on the bridge. But there ought to be some good fish there.

http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/find.cgi?call=DW2887

Is this your station location?  It is what you gave WU.  37 13'22"N   76 57'29"W  looks good to me.

https://www.google.com/maps/place/37%C2%B013'22.7%22N+76%C2%B057'29.4%22W/@37.2198927,-76.9695367,5441m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x0?hl=en

If you do not know your exact location go here and get it.  degrees min sec

http://itouchmap.com/latlong.html

If that location is good go the setup page that  LFWX  showed you above and put in

37    13.379

76  57.49

I bet that will move your location to real close to actual.

I a jealous of all those trees.

What the heck is thing located close to your house?
