PWS with Air Quality
« on: January 04, 2020, 03:51:48 AM »
Hi All,

It appears that my current PWS (its an Australian Jaycar branded XC0370, which appears to be the same as the Fine Offset WH2900 http://www.foshk.com/Wifi_Weather_Station/WH2900.html) has died.

So in looking at my options, I was trying to find something to upgrade it with, but to also include air quality sensors (PM2.5, PM10 etc.) - now I know my Dyson air purifier has this capability, and my research shows a number of commercial options, but nothing integrated into a nice PWS.

Is there anything out there I've missed?

Thanks!
Dave from Canberra, Australia

You could get one of these stations from Ecowitt:
http://www.ecowitt.com/weather_station/
HP2551
HP2553
GW1001
GW1002
GW1003

...and then add this optional sensor:
WH41 (add up to 4 of them)
http://www.ecowitt.com/wifi_weather/83.html

You can also buy one of those HP255x stations and add a GW1000 gateway console. Or you can do it the other way around and get one of the GW100x versions and then add the HP2551-C display console.

There are also other optional extra sensors you can get.
Ecowitt GW1000 | Meteobridge on Raspberry Pi
WU: KFLWINTE111  |  PWSweather: KFLWINTE111
CWOP: FW3708  |  AWEKAS: 14814
Windy: pws-f075acbe
Weather Underground Issue Tracking
Tele-Pole

Which setup did you end up going with Dave?

My BloomSky's temp sensor has finally gone the way of the wind & UV sensors, so looking for something to replace it with, but can't justify the coin of a Davis system.

Unfortunately never got to get one - my system has continued to work OK since we had the hot temps - I suspect that next summer it will play up again though, and hopefully there will be a bigger range of options on the market!

Bugger.

Leaning towards the GW1001 purely as the inside display is through Home Assistant anyway.
