The reading for temp on my WRM100 of 2 years has been giving high readings...over 20 degrees F,
for the past week.
I have read that this is a problem many people have.
I want to install a replacement temp and hum sensor...
model THGN801.
Can I do this and still have the wind sensor work.
All I have read says that the new sensor will take on channel 1
That is what the old new is...
if I remove the batteries from the original sensor
the wind sensor won't work.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Do you have the old WMR100 or the WMR100N? If you get the THGN801, it is automatically set on channel 1. If you have the old WMR100 which has the temperature/wind in the same unit, then it will not work. I had the exact same problem, so I bought a new THGN801 and I also bought a new WGR800 wind vane/anemometer. You can find them as low as $70 or $80 online. Once I did this, everything has worked perfectly.

Yes it is an older WMR100 with everything attached to one unit.
I figured it would not work.
I ordered a new new THGN801...good price of $13.99 this morning.
I guess I will have to get a new WGR800 in time.
For now I set up outside a  3 channel wireless remote I was using in the garage.
Thanks for your help.
It's sad how only after a little less than 2 years these units break down.

The newer equipment works much better. I have no idea why they put the temperature/wind housing together for the roof in the older WMR100. The newer version gives up more options to put them in different places, which works out much better. Good luck!

Thank You for your input.
Glad to hear the newer model is better....
just hate the added expense in a short period of time.

Your Thoughts on this related problem below:

I  bought a new WGR800 wind vane/anemometer.
Just installed it today.

At first I was getting the wind speed,
but the direction was staying at N
where I new it was wrong
I reset everything which did not work.
I took the sensor down
took the batteries out and unscrewed the direction vane.
I repositioned it making sure it was pointing north on the sensor.
Reset it and the display unit
and it seemed to work
I got a NW direction and the WNW

After about 15 minutes I wasn't getting
a wind speed reading...
I waited thinking it would correct itself...
NOTHING
took everything apart and reset all units.
Now the direction was ALL wrong and the speed was stuck at 6mph
where I knew it was over 15mph
I am returning the wind sensor for a replacement
I hope the next one is not the same

You mentioned when you replaced your sensors
it worked great.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thank you in advance

I had a problem at first with the wind direction sticking on north. What you need to make sure is that the arrow is seated tightly down on the metal post. Mine was wobbly at first and when I put it on the roof, it was only showing north as well. Once i played with it and forced the arrow down on the metal post, it finally started reading correctly. These things could be designed a little bit better I think. Once I got it on there tight, everything has been working great for 2 months now.

Thanks for the info...
I am getting a replacement
I will make sure when I attach the direction vane
it is pushed all the way down.
Hopefully it will work!

Where were you able to buy it for $13.99?
