Is my live feed working
« on: August 17, 2014, 01:10:36 PM »
I changed modems and set my port forwarding on my modem. I was wondering if my live webcam feed is working. Here is my webcam page live feed is on top, then the still pic and the timelapse.

Well that sucks. I have my port forwarding set correctly I believe. Here is what is on my script. My IP address

var BaseURL = "http://24.111.208.218:5353/";

It might be my firewall. Investigating further. It works on my browsers here. But that is because it is local I would assume.

I see a "Still image updates every 5 minutes." picture and a "timelapse video".

Below that I only see the alt "Cam 1", but no image below "The camera in use is an Axis 211 and it is facing towards the North."

The page source shows:

Code: [Select]
<img alt="Cam 1" src="http://www.hayskansasweather.com/axis211.jpg" style="width:320px; height:240px; border:1px solid white; " />
Is this what you intended? Why would it point to hayskansasweather.com? Just to try something, I changed hayskansasweather to chucksweather in the URL, but it couldn't find the axis211.jpg file.

Never noticed that. I removed that. It was for the camera pic. Heading out. Like I stated before it works on my computer here. I am missing something very simple.

Hey Chuck,

Had a similar situation when I changed routers and added the "tomato" firmware. The fix was checking "DMZ" which my IP guy (my son) says is used in gaming to open your computer up completely, no hint of a firewall on that port. It's over my head but I hope this helps.

Do you have one of those modem/router combo's?  :shock: The port 5353 is not forwarded. It works on your network but not visible to the outside world.

I put the same port number on start and end.

PS... You might want to erase your internal IP from the screenshot.

Is it a modem/router combo? Your ISP might be blocking PF.

Just curious. Why are u port forwarding with your modem and not your router? You can see it because it's on your network and not port forwarded to the outside world. What brand modem and router?

Do u have a router??  If so plug the cat 5 from the camera into a port on the back and configure the router to port forward.

Ahh. I've had issues with those in the past. I have a Motorola Surfboard 6121 modem and an Asus N66U router.  Try using the router.  I got another Asus router in the garage that my Cat 5 cables are plugged for my cameras that is bridged to my main router upstairs.

I have tried using the router I had with my old cisco and I could not get through the router...It is a pain in the butt. My router is connected to my modem so I would still have to go through both. Or am I wrong.

My main router is connected to my modem (the other one for my cams is bridged) and I just go through the router. I know nothing about those modem/router combos. I think having them seperate is best. Just my 2 cents.

You could put the modem in bridged mode and use the router to port forward. Which disables port forwarding from the modem to just the router.

Just wondering if it is working yet. Tried a couple different things.
