Adding Weather Almanac to Website
« on: April 07, 2011, 03:36:23 PM »
What would be the easiest way to add a Weather Almanac to my website.  I would like Normal Temps and Record Highs & Lows and have it change everyday.

Murry Conarroe from Wildwood Weather has done a script for that. I Think that's what you need...

It looks like you're using VWS.  If so, here's a template you may be able to modify for your use.  Add that file to your list of HTML Files (Internet menu in VWS) and add the corresponding cities to your Climate Report (Wunderground menu).

Here's what it looks like on my site.

So this may be a stupid question, but do I need to create an additional page on my website like yours to make this work or can I do a small section on the front page of mine?  If so, how do I direct the stats to be updated from VWS to the front page of my website?

You can do it either way.  If you want it to be a small section within your index page, add the tags to that page, process through VWS the same way your existing usa.htx file is being updated, and upload it to your site.

How do set up a 'climate report' on Wunderground? Looked around and I can't seem to find how to do that.

Thanks, Doug

Really like your 'Area Almanac' page

In VWS, click on the "Wunderground" menu, then "Climate Report".  Fill in the city and states you would like to include.

Thanks for the reply. I see now! I run WD. Was thinking you were refering to WeatherUnderground and a report that could be generated. Sorry!

Thanks again, Doug

Sorry, I saw the current conditions page for Montgomery and assumed it was yours.  Maybe this will be helpful to someone else.
