Think Faulty Datalogger memory is problem why cannot store data
« on: November 28, 2010, 03:14:56 AM »
I think there is a problem with my datalogger, maybe the datslogger memory at fault.

This is all I can possibly trace it to, the datalogger memory is faulty. I know with Cumulus it used to come up with wait, downloading data to computer, or something like that, now I don't get that message, so the datalogger memory is not working.

I checked it, it was half out, pushed it back in and still no improvment, so no being fully connected may have damaged the datalogger memory itself, so since I have only had it a month will claim a new one under warrenty.

Did you remove ALL power before re seating the data logger?

Read the Troubleshooting  section of the WeatherLink Data Logger manual.  One item that you may have have missed ( that Rick has already pointed out):
Quote
Note: Failure to remove power to the console or Envoy before installing the data logger may
cause damage to the data logger or console. Plugging or unplugging the data logger
while power is applied can lock up or damage the data logger.

If the suggestions in the manual don't produce positive results the contact telephone numbers for Davis are listed in it.

In reading one of the other three threads he started on this subject, I believe his datalogger issue has been resolved.  Apparently there was a loose connection with the datalogger itself or the cable connected to it.

Fortunately these dataloggers seldom go bad.
