What's Your Rainwise Web Site?
« on: May 05, 2014, 06:43:10 PM »
Myself and Jim from Virginia have been in search of a location where we can see Rainwise stations plotted on a map. We haven't had much luck. I have located three others besides my own (this includes Jim's). If you have the IP-100 you know what I'm in search of. My web site through RW is https://rainwise.net/weather/don43832 What's yours?

Must be a glitch in IP-100. Will not get excited unless does not correct next 48 hrs. Has been raining all day and snow expected tonight.

I've been having trouble with WU not receiving my data recently (it's completely stopped now) and I wanted to check on Rainwise to see if it was coming through there. My url is http://rainwise.net/weather/FR_Ranch_78737 . However, that no longer works. I get an error message that says Sorry, we can't find that weather page!
https://rainwise.net//weather/FR_Ranch_78737 .

My email to support@rainwise.com just bounced back.

Is there a new support address? Can anyone else get to my weather page?

Thanks

try this:

https://rainwise.net///weather/FRRanch78737

but it says...'no signal'

Is your IP-100 plugged in to the AC outlet as well as your router?

My guess his IP-100 is offline.  However now I'm seeing other stations reporting 'offline'  Might be a glitch with the Rainwise server.

Thanks for the new url. I guess someone didn't like the underscore characters.

I can access the IP-100 through my browser and get this message "No data is being received from the weather station!" so it's not receiving from my station.

It's been up for a few years without too much trouble until lately. My Oracle display has been going to dashes pretty often recently but it's operating fine right now.

Today has been dark and wet all day so it could be the battery in the station I guess. It last went down about 11 today and not a peep since then. http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KTXAUSTI216 .

I did reset the IP-100 a couple of hours ago and again just now by removing power for a few minutes.

Any ideas other than the station battery?

I'll be flummoxed. It just started transmitting again!

Thanks

....dashes on the display is usually caused my no signal....which may mean low battery.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.

Now that I can see active IP-100 data through the browser I see 6.3 volts so that's probably not the problem right?

I will continue to monitor. If it's more appropriate to post this in a different thread just let me know.

Thanks,
Gary

Most likely the station battery, it should be around 5.5 to 6.0 volts when its dark out. Mine is reading 6.9 volts at the moment. shorter days, colder temperature  and battery age could be impacting the station operation. I had a bad battery a year age and had the same issue.

It does seem to be going in and out. I moved the device around in my wiring closet to separate it from my router and cable modem. It looked like that helped but there are still intermittent spaces every few minutes. It won't hurt to replace the battery since it's a few years old. I'll do that and go from there after the rain stops in a day or two.

Thanks for the battery url.
