space weather alerts
« on: August 05, 2011, 04:51:22 PM »
Is there a script available that could display space weather alerts on my astronomy pages?  I just thought of this because I received a coronal mass ejection/aurora alert in my email inbox today.

Thanks Doug, but I already have that page working on my site. I was looking for an alert similar to the weather watch/warnings that display at the top of our websites.

Sorry, should have checked your site first. Wish I could get that one going on my site. Good job.

Here is a site that has a solar activity monitor script you can use.  The code is at the bottom of the page.  I had to modify it a bit to display properly on my astronomy page that you can see here http://ucweather.org/wxastronomy.php

Here are a couple more links to some other banners you can use especially if you are a ham.

Nice, Harry. It's not what I had in mind, however, your suggestions are great.
