Greetings friends and rain observers. The Oglethorpe County, Georgia CoCoRaHS observers and the Oglethorpe County Rainfall Reporting Network will meet tomorrow, January 14, 2012. Our third annual meeting will be at the Oglethorpe County Library on Athens Road in Lexington. The address is 858 Athens Road, US 78. We will meet from noon to 2 pm.
Pam Knox region coordinator, UGA Professor and Meteorologist will speak. We will also be enlightened by Dudley Hartel, U S Forest Service about ice accumulation.
Acu-Rite has provided some weather equipment that we will present to rain observing stations as performance awards.
We have about 17 active rain reporting stations in Oglethorpe county. CoCoRaHS members of other counties as well as anyone interested in rain observing are welcome.
We have been reporting rain since September 2006 and will have met professionals attending that can answer your questions.
If you are a CoCoRaHS observer and wish to receive hands on training on rain/snow/ice, join us tomorrow.
Saturday, January 14, 2012, noon to 2 pm.
