All,

There was a temporary interruption in NWS product services the morning of July 14th.  This interruption was caused by a router issue. When the system was re-initiated old messages in a buffer were subsequently disseminated.

The root cause of this problem has been identified and safeguards have been placed to reduce future impacts.

NWS is continuing enterprise technology upgrades and transition.   Users will be notified of planned outages via e-mail or administrative messages.

If there are other issues or questions that need to be addressed concerning this recent interruption, please e-mail me directly.  All other inquiries should be addressed to NWWS.issues@noaa.gov .   Thank you.

Respectfully,

     Gregory Zwicker
