So I was doing some poking around on my local NOAA site ("noaa jax" if ya do a google search), and found an interesting link that I haven't seen discussed here. At least not recently. I've always wondered if they actually use our data that we send in. Anyways, when Florida had that tropical storm come through about a month ago, I saw my weather station data actually being used in their rainfall totals for the area. This was the first evidence that I had ever seen sense I've been sending data that they are using what I am sending in, and are announcing it to the public. Which has been a little over a year and a half now.
This web site below is more evidence that they are actually using the data. However, I'm a little surprised that the data is coming from Mesowest, and that they are not using it directly. Anyways thought that you guys might find this interesting. See link below. By the way, the link I posted Is for my area, you can zoom in and out of the map to view you area and you tabulated data.

Interesting. The data from my station is also on the map.

Mine also. Is interesting.

As is mine.

and put your station id (the 5 character version) in the stn parameter for some interesting info.

Somebody on this forum put up a link to that site quite some time ago, so it has been around a while.
Still, it is a great site and I use it a lot.
