Alternative Software for Boltek LD-250
« on: June 19, 2017, 05:07:02 PM »
I am looking for an alternative to Nexstorm. While it has various features I like, there is also quite a few things I dislike, especially that it feels there is little to no improvement in recent years, not even an upgrade for more modern systems. I will be replacing my base hardware in the near future and I am very worried I will run into issues on a more modern OS. Lightning 2000 s Ems to be dead too.

I would also like to find something else.  I'm reactivating my LD-250 after years, and it looks like the software available is just as primitive as it always was.
Still, way better than nothing when you're out of cell range.

I don't know about alternative software, but with Nexstorm I have that talking with Weather Display software which provides more details. I wouldn't say the lightning feature is more modern looking but it's more detailed.
I live in an apartment and for the moment am not a home weather watcher.

I am a storm chaser.

I just lit up my 250 again after something like 12 years. All ok. Had a couple strikes off in Kansas somewhere and one local and they registered.
