I tried that with my FTP camera, and the availability got worse. Another longtime user in my area has never had his FTP cam go down. The conclusion I draw from this is that established cams/users have a better chance of operability than new. Could be something like the server is servicing a queue and starts over at a given elapsed time. If it hasn't serviced all cams by that time, it just starts over the queue and misses everything on the end, hence, established cams work, new ones don't.
At least that's my hare brained interpretation, probably wrong.
