Wet weekend for Florida on the way?
« on: May 31, 2007, 08:29:06 PM »
...SPECIAL FEATURE...

A BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE...ANALYZED 1005 MB...IS LOCATED
ABOUT 70 MI SE OF COZUMEL MEXICO AT 19N87W. THIS LOW SITS ALONG AN ELONGATED SFC TROUGH WHICH STRETCHES FROM NICARAGUA TO THE SRN GULF. THE OVERALL STRUCTURE OF THE SYSTEM HAS IMPROVED OVER THE PAST DAY OR SO AND FOR THAT REASON THERE IS SOME POTENTIAL FOR TROPICAL DEVELOPMENT OVER THE NEXT DAY OR TWO. THEREAFTER... MODELS SHOW THE LOW TRACKING N/NE INTO THE SE GULF OF MEXICO ...A HIGH SHEAR ENVIRONMENT...WHICH WOULD FAVOR NON-TROPICAL DEVELOPMENT. REGARDLESS OF WHAT FORMS...TROPICAL OR NON-TROPICAL ...ASSOCIATED HEAVY RAINFALL MAY OCCUR ACROSS WRN CUBA AND S FLORIDA OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. PRESENTLY SCATTERED MODERATE TO STRONG CONVECTION IS ALONG THE COAST OF THE YUCATAN PENINSULA FROM 19N-21N BETWEEN 87W-89W. SIMILAR CONVECTION IS FURTHER E OVER THE NW CARIBBEAN SEA FROM 18N-21N BETWEEN 83W-86W.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

We could use some rain here for the yard and garden.  But you certainly need it worse than I.

I'll do the rain dance for you as well. I'm quite sure I don't want any more rain. The inch I got yesterday is headed your way, hopefully you'll get that much or more. The three inches we're supposed to get tomorrow through Saturday morning you are more than welcome to. I'm tired of mowing the grass twice a week. :!:

Looking at our Florida members rainfall totals it looks like everyone but Emmett received beneficial rains. Hang in there Emmett, storms not over yet.
Edit. I went back and looked at your site a few minutes later and you had jumped from .15 to .78. Guess I posted to quick.

Wow!  Through the 1st & 2nd, we got 0.26" from this storm.  Was nice to feel rain on the face after almost a month!

Yep, it WAS a typo!

1.69 so far for us. This has been just about a "perfect" rain event as well. No really heavy downpours that just run off. Just a nice steady rain for the most part.

Up to 2.74 now, but we really could have used twice that much!! At least it was a good steady rain that soaked in.  :D
