TX Supercells Likely Today
« on: April 07, 2012, 01:57:54 PM »
SPC has a slight risk area over west central TX today, looks like the cap could diminish a little later this afternoon and im seeing CAPE values over 2500 :-) :-) Gonna give Storm Predator a try today and see what we can do!

Just in the last two frames, a nice cell has started to form just northwest of Abilene, TX

Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for most of west central Texas now, and one warning with that supercell I was referring to northwest of Abilene

Looks like everything is calming down some now. 4 Tornado reports in the Mitchell-Sterling County TX area, and that area also received 3-4" of rain, VERY slow moving storms but it was a heck of a lot of fun to watch on radar! :-)

Cells in west central TX dived south and formed into a derecho and are still prompting severe thunderstorm warnings near Del Rio near the Mexican border.
