Mast is sinking....
« on: July 11, 2017, 07:14:22 AM »
My mast is sinking, its sank about 4" so far, i went round checking the guy lines the other day
i noticed one site was quite slack, so i tightened them up and thought that perhaps i failed
to tighten one of the mast sections adequately, the mast is against a post on the summer house
its only strapped to it so the bottom does not move, the guys lines are doing all the work, its also
in the ground about 3 inches when i put it up, i noticed the straps have dropped a bout 4".
Looks like all the bad rain we had just recently has softened the ground and with the force of the
steel guy lines, its pulling it down, who'd a thunk it eh, not me, evidently.....

Its a good job the mast needs to be lowered anyway, i need to add my new led mod to the shield
plus i need to relocate the OS solar in a jar sensor as thats shadowed by the Davis UV/Solar

Its all fun and games till ya mast sink eh lol
Kind regards
Bashy

Set a brick under it and run a couple of screws through it into the post.

I think just a brick under it should do it, the mast has no bottom so its just cutting a tunnel out lol
Kind regards
