Highest rainfall recorded in a day
« on: November 05, 2008, 12:42:14 AM »
Here in Chennai, India on Oct 27,2005 the rainfall recorded was 423 mm or 16.65 inch (incredible rain)

My Oregon WS recorded around 350 mm or so. This in understandable because of the the velocity of the rain. 300 of the 400 mm can down in like 5 hours.

FYI I have moved on to a Davis V2 now. This has nothing to do the rainfall.

I had 192 inches one day.  But that's because my guage had iced over and the tip bucket wasn't tipping.  Plus the wind was knocking the sensor suite around a little.  So it just kept clicking away until I could get home after work and pour some hot water over it.
