Oops...sorry. Jack wins...it's KALRUTLE2...
http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=31.733%2C-86.354&sp=KALRUTLE2&MR=1 I've got a station about four miles from me at a lower elevation that I've been comparing to...a few more scattered out at 15-25 mile distances.
I'm wanting to work towards using Cumulus for most everything, Paul. I figured since WeatherLink was the "base" program for the VP2 I'd get connected with WU with it and go from there. I've got *lots* to learn!
Actually Faith Hill is Faith Hill *Community*. It's so small that we don't rate a zip code and don't even have a crossroads to mark us...there's probably 75 to 80 residents...but probably sixty of'em are buried in the cemetary...church and cemetary just down the road about 1/2 mile.
We're on the west side of the county with good elevation and with the prevailing wind and most storms coming from that direction we could be a short-range forecaster for our county seat and the central area of the county.
Web cam???...rules????....OH!!!...*those* rules. Well, it'll have to happen later, but I did snag a Olympus 500 the other day on the cheap.
On a rather disturbing note I'm a bit PO'd. I walked out to the station a few minutes ago...I hadn't physically been out there in a couple of days. I looked at the anemometer and thought it looked a little "crooked". SHOOT...that 4x4 that I painstakingly leveled has johnbrown blankety blank warped to one side!!!!
I don't know if I can level it or not. If I redo it I'm going with metal posts this time...this is really gripes me. How much does the anemometer being off level hurt your readings and does it cause fast premature wear?
