Toshiba Satellite Drivers?
« on: December 28, 2010, 01:03:41 AM »
The function keys no longer work on my Vista-era Toshiba Satellite, and haven't since upgrading to Windows 7 last year. I get "KeNotify MFC Application has stopped working"

Anybody know how I can at least get the Fn (Function) keys working again? Choosing "Check online for a solution and close the program" does absolutely nothing. I'll add that a search resulted in nothing.

I should've mentioned this before...must've escaped my mind.  #-o

It's a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4697.

Anyhow, the options for the Satellite model are A300 series and up...

I'm typing on a Satellite A135-S4427 that was Vista. I took that crap off and put XP back on and it's been great.

My Dad wouldn't let me downgrade from Vista when I first got the PC a few years ago. So I waited (forever) for 7 to come out. So far no problems…except the issues with the FN key, which is now fixed. I also took the time to upgrade my BIOS on the board.

When I first upgraded to 7 last year, I saw numerous blue screens and lock ups. Two months later, it purred forever.

Still purrs. For now. I just don't like the 1.6GHz AMD processor…4 gigs of RAM and not a whole lot of processing power.
