Title: Transmit issues - Davis Vantage Vue to ham weather/pws weather, CWOP
Post by: WeatherHelpNow on January 01, 2010, 05:29:10 PM
We have upgraded from Lacrosse to Davis Vantage Vue, very sweet station. have no problem with viewing data on PC through SOFTWARE (either Weather display or Virtual weather Station) with Davis data logger. We are able to transmit and view data to weather underground only. We have failed to through each of these software to be able to transmit and view data from CWOP and or pwsweather.com. We tried the weather display software first and after struggling decided to remove and load VWS only to experience the same issues. Very frustrated and probably something simple, please help.  accepting calls as well 615-566-1156                                                                                                                                                                    Thanks Fred

Not being familiar with WD, I can't help you there but I know on VWS there are menus for PWS Weather aka HAM weather and a couple of others you can send your data to. I have 12.05 version. You'll need user ID and pass word to use PWS weather/ham weather and the others in that software. They are on the top menu under servers and you can choose how often you want to send you data and it's pretty much self explantory. As for CWOP, you'll need to download the VWSaprs software that allows you to send to CWOP. You can find it here: http://www.ambientweather.com/vwsaprs.html (http://www.ambientweather.com/vwsaprs.html) Good luck. PM me if you have trouble in VWS.

You can try the FREE weather software by WUHU....while the graphics aren't the same as VWS or WD, it runs flawlessly and is NOT a resource hog. Also, it is very simple to use and the author of the software is incredibly responsive with updates, etc. Their Yahoo Groups support is helpful, too.

The manual for it can be found at:

I was going to suggest rechecking the id/password and coordinates.  Sometimes they're awfully picky about that.  one little thing wrong and nothing works.

it could be a firewall blocking the uploads
did you try posting on the WD forum for help with the problem?
