The above storm was in its early stages when it effected Stillwater and so didn't amount to much, but it sure picked up strength after passing Stillwater.   Earlier that day, Stillwater and county got hit by a different storm shortly after midnight with wind gusts in the 40 to 75 mph range.  Here the wind gusted to 47 mph for the new highest gust recorded this year.  No damage at my house, just some twigs that lightly littered the yard. The rainy spell is over for now.  Typical dry, hot summer weather sets in next week with highs getting up to the upper 90s, possibly to 100.  About as decent of a summer as can be expected here, so far.  Not too dry, not too unusually hot:

Funny thing was that of the 110,000 customers who lost power, I wasn't one of them during the storm.  However today, during some line repair, my power got knocked out for about two hours.

It was brutal.  Co worker and I were out for lunch when the initial storm came through.  The tail end charley of the line generated a tornado warning which fired up my phone.  We headed back to work and had to sit in his truck for 20 minutes and wait out the wind and rain (by this time they'd cancelled the warning).  Rain was coming down sideways.

It was worse in south and southeastern Tulsa county.  My brother lives in Broken Arrow..he lost half of his western fence in the backyard.  Two schools were damaged.  Usually don't see storms like this in July.  Quite an impressive storm for sure.

Someone with a drone took a video of the storm approaching Tulsa.  Rain looked real heavy near the CityPlex towers.
