When I sign on and click on either one it says: No unread topics found since your last visit, when there have been. Is there a glitch? :???:

Odd... I use the unread posts since last visit all the time (and it's working for me).
Do you have cookies enabled for wxforum.net in your browser? It's where the session info is maintained for your visits.

I was going to suggest using this url:

That takes you back 100 or so posts, so you can read them all. :)

I came here because I am also having this problem. It started happening about two weeks ago. Every time I come it shows no unread posts since my last visit.

You have to be logged in.

I am logged in permanently.

I'm also logged in "permanently" and have not had a problem.

Interestingly, and perhaps a clue, is that showing ALL unread messages only shows message up to 9:14 am PDT. None of the messages posted since then appear in that listing. I suspect this is related to timezone issues.

I don't see a place in Profile to set your local time zone. My posts are being logged as EDT. I am in CDT zone. Am I overlooking the obvious?

It's under "Look and Layout" in Account Settings. It's just an offset.

To chime-in, I too have had similar intermittent problems. I never did figure out what was causing it. However, since I run Google Chrome almost exclusively now for browsing, I just created a shortcut (http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?action=unread;all;start=0 (http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?action=unread;all;start=0)) on the Bookmarks Bar (and then enabled it so it shows at the top). That allows me to see anything I may have missed.

For the OP and others - another option if you have the site bookmarked is to right click on your bookmark, go to 'properties' and in the Location (or URL) section paste the following:
http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?action=unread
That's how I set mine up and it works great!

I've been having problems with this since we upgraded to the new forum (although I like the new forum look and layout). I think it is a bug related to the "ignore boards" option. To those of you who think you're still having problems with the "Show unread posts", do you have any boards checked under the "ignore boards" section of the "modify profile"? I have about 10 boards checked and I think that is causing the problem. ....and yes, I do understand that if I choose to ignore a board, it won't show up under "Show unread posts since last visit (http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?action=unread)".
What I'm experiencing is that when I click the "Show unread posts since last visit (http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?action=unread)" link, I might get 10 unread posts. But if I choose to show "All unread topics (http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?action=unread;all;start=0)" I see new posts for Boards that are NOT checked on my ignore boards option, so I should be seeing those when I click on the "Show unread posts since last visit" link.
