Member location?
« on: December 31, 2007, 06:49:39 PM »
Why doesn't our location show up under user info when posting (first column of threads)? It is an item in our profiles...

And if it could be displayed, should we require that a condition of membership is indicating at least your state, if not also your city?

Weather being so closely tied to geographic location, wouldn't it make sense? Didn't the previous forum software show the poster's location?

I've always kept my locale top secret and that is the way it will stay!   :-$

I would like to see locations underneath each person's username (if provided), but it shouldn't be required for membership. We know you live somewhere... :-P

Eh, Mark, where is it you live?

I'm one of those people... who are FROM Ohio...  :-)

It was just a thought... and obviously, those that provide links to their PWS will reveal their location...

While I'm poking about in the DB and theme code, I'll see what's missing to enable location display (as I try to add a field for Station equipment/software.

I view a forum member's location as a matter of interest but not a matter of necessity.

Happy New year, folks!
