What in tarnation?
« on: March 15, 2015, 11:21:42 AM »
Does anyone know what is going on with the quality checking on my temperature data?

I have no idea why the analysis line seems totally out to lunch.

One of the bad (I think) things about the QA is that you don't know who or what you're being compared to.  It looks like the station(s) you're being compared to is off the rails.

Ignore it.  Your data  is fine.
The analysis basis is on the range of values around where you live, from the most awful to the most whatever.   In a few days, trust me, the analysis will change.  I wouldn't worry about it.

I see this all the time. I've gotten to the point where I take Gladstone's analysis and WU data pretty much with a grain of salt.

Station I'm compared to is in a cat. 1-2 hurricane all the time. I keep waiting for the storm surge.

I asked this question a while ago and it ended in a dust up between two members. My numbers were a little off too.

So, after the two caused the thread to be closed-I chose to ignore the issue.
Post #2 by Slowmodem is the best advice.

LOL, OK, I'll stop worrying. Thanks everyone for offering advice.

I'm beginning to wonder whether all my effort is for any good other than my own amusement and education.

After a while you'll see what's what.

Hmmm... It's been five years doing the weather thing and 60 years in life and I'm still wondering what's what.  I'm getting closer though. Just hope I won't have to wait until I'm lying on my death bed to get that answer.
