64bit computer, VSPE and Virtual VP
« on: April 08, 2015, 06:50:43 PM »
I am trying to get a Davis Pro 2 to connect to a 64 bit computer using VSPE emulator and Virtual VP. I have been able to do this with a 32 bit computer using VVP and N8VBvCom Driver without a problem
The 64 bit computer does have 2 serial ports and I set VSPE to create a virtual com3 and set VVP to com3 and keep getting "no repsonse after several tries in waking up console"
any ideas???

Thanks

Steve

What type of data logger do you have?

oh and,
why are you trying to use both VSPE and Virtual VP?

Use Com0com....it works great with a 64 bit system.

Steve,

I use VSPE and VVP on a 64-bit system and they work flawlessly. On my system, VSPE creates virtual ports com16-com19 and VVP communicates with the 'real' com3 port. Can you post screenshots of your VSPE and VVP configs?

I just upgraded from a W7-32 bit to a W7-64 bit computer. Just as SteveFitz1 has noted, VSPE and VVP are a good solution. They worked for me without a hitch using my single physical com1. Running Davis WeatherLink and Weather Display simultaneously. A big "Thank You" to Steve for his time and effort in assisting me with this project.  =D>
