meteobridge - no live data
« on: April 29, 2016, 09:07:26 PM »
Hi All:
I'm trying to get my Meteobridge - Dlink DIR 505L to synch to my Acu-Rite AcuLink bridge.  I can access my 5-n-1 sensor data from AcuLink(LAN attached) via their BackYard app.  I can connect/configure the Meteobridge on the Dlink which is connected to my WLAN.  I can reboot, and ping the Meteobridge....my problem is that under the "Live Data" tab there is no acknowledgement of the sensor or readings.  All the other tabs appear to be OK, showing NO errors or conflicts.  My primary router is a Cisco/Linksys WRT320N.

Headings under the Live Data tab:
Weather Network Status>>Weather Underground>>No Weather Traffic

Live Data  >>>> Sensor   Signal   Metric Data   Imperial Data - no fields populated, complete blank

Historical Data: date & time info, sensor is blank

Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  My home office is in turmoil!

Thanks,
Phil

Log into your router to see if the MB is recognozed.  If it is, you should be able to ping the IP address.  Let's start with that.
Need low cost IP monitoring?  http://wirelesstag.net/wta.aspx?link=NisJxz6FhUa4V67/cwCRWA or PM me for 50% off Wirelesstags!!

Bushman,
here ya go.....
below as it appears on my router...I masked the last digits of the ip & mac address

meteobridge>>   Wireless    192.168.1.1XX    C8:BE:19:66:XX:XX

Also pinged the ip successfully from a command prompt.  No latency or dropped packets.

Thanks,
Phil

Are you sure the MB is loaded?  I would now reboot everything and see what comes up.

Bushman,
Not sure of anything at this point.  I'm a weather noob with some i.t. knowledge so when you ask if I'm sure MB is running, here's what I'm going by.
below is the reading from the System tab:
System
Platform:    D-LINK DIR-505 REV. A1   (no USB hub)
RAM:    61556 kB total, 25320 kB free (58% used)
SW Version:    Meteobridge 2.8 (Apr 28 2016, build 9814), FW 1.3
Uptime:    1 hours, 38 minutes    Buffer:

So I'm clear, you suggest rebooting all network & pc devices and see what I get??  Or just the NW?

thanks for your help,
Phil

Ok, until two days ago the exact same setup for my Acurite 5-in-1 (see my sig picture, that's it) but I moved my Meteobridge then to support rapid fire updates for my Davis VP2 to a website.

So, not to be insulting, and starting with the basics, under the Weather Station tab you selected Acurite: Internet Bridge, right?

That would be the most basic reason you might not be seeing live data :).

SunDevil,
Don't worry about the possible insult....lol  I appreciate all and any help to resolve this issue.

Yes, to answer your question, under the Weather Station tab >>>Acurite: Internet-Bridge is checked and a pic of the bridge is displayed.

Thanks,
Phil

Try a different Ethernet cable between the aculink bridge and Meteobridge.

Doctor Know,
You nailed it!  It looks like the male end of the RJ-45 cable was slightly crimped.  Must have rolled over it with my chair.  Looks like it's sniffing data....fields populated and all's well.

Thanks to everybody who took the time to help.  It's appreciated!
