Steel Guages and my site
« on: August 24, 2016, 07:51:31 AM »
Hi

I don't think my setup is correctly finding the gauges-ss-basic-inc.php file when loading the steel gauges from my Saratoga template.
This appears in the source view

<!-- Steel Series Gauges template (gauges-ss-basic-inc.php) not found in /ssg/.  Using default HTML for gauges. -->
<!-- default HTML is being used -->

even though i can load page from here http://weather.trevandsteve.com/ssg/gauges-ss-basic-inc.php

I seem to be missing something?

I have tried different relative paths, but getting a bit stuck

Appreciate any help.

Steve

The first link you provided points to your /ssg/ sub-directory, the second to your root. Unless you have set it up otherwise they should follow the layout as seen in the download. See attached, as seen from the root. Use /ssg/ if you like, but follow the layout.

Hi

is this also true for ken's script he has, which has reference to this section

$ssgDir = '/ssg/'; // set to relative directory location of the SteelSeries gauge directory

Exactly which script are you talking about? Ken has many.

Hi

I am referring to the wxssgauges.php file which is part of the Saratoga World Template set and sits in the root directory.

It has instructions to reference the ssg directory.

The page loads fine, but seems to load just the HTML page.

It mentions just setting a relative path to the folder gauges directory.

I guess this is how it works.

Interesting. I did a search earlier of my gauges files for $ssgDir and it didn't come up with that. Have to find out what's up there. Didn't realize Ken had released it in his set. I use USA, unless he added it there recently.

Yes, you can use $ssgDir='./ssg/'; for that item. Just put your needed files/folders in that same directory per Mark's readme file.

I don't see your data updating, and the forecast is missing at the top. First I'd update WD to b19. Brian has fixed a number of things between your b15 and b19. You can comment out the seconds countdown item if you like as I did. See mine at http://tiggrweather.net/wxssgauges.php.

Thanks!

I found another forum article that talks about updating the javascript link

http://www.weather-watch.com/smf/index.php?topic=58457.0

I had to do that to get my wind rose working.
