Port for sending to wunderground
« on: November 19, 2009, 04:56:03 PM »
I am moving the station back to school and hoping to solve  the issue of not being able to send to WU.

http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=2524.msg19243#msg19243

So I am looking for info again
Which port does our computers use to communicate with WU?

I can see in my modem log that it accesses weatherstation.wunderground.net  to send to WU

is that ftp or html?

It's http.  Here's their description of the protocol:

Looks like port 80 being most likely:

thanks Mark

I have sent that info to our computer techs.
Hopefully they can get it going

As of now, my station is off the grid.

I wouldn't think it should be a problem for them provided they are willing to crack the window in their system so to speak to allow the data to flow through.

they finally did it.

Used a packet sniffer to get it to work.

It took 15 minutes.

I just needed to find the right person to get the job done.

Now I have to find the right person to let me hook up electricity for the rain gauge heater

You need to keep a list of those " right people" and be sure to keep on their "good side".
