Acu-link and wu app ipad
« on: February 09, 2015, 10:54:00 AM »
I set up my new acurite 5 in 1 with acu- link one week ago.
I have shared it with weather underground and it worked fine until yesterday.
No I have lost all the history on the app for ipad but not on their web site.

So yesterday I was playing around with kevin's key and I got that working but the laptop I used was loosing connection to the internet. I had to reboot it all the time. So I just gave up the project and did go back to the normal prosedyre and acu-link in router.
But since that there is no history on the app but it seem to update fine every 15 min.

Don't know if anyone has an idea of what is wrong but I can only hope.
Thanks in advance
I live in norway and my wunderground id is IROGALAN135

I suspect you might be running into the outages that have hit Acurite lately.  Anything using SSL (e.g. the MBW website and mobile apps) really seems to get shutdown hard.  Non-SSL traffic (like data from the bridge) seems to get through at least 1/2 of the time according to a measurement I made last night.

No one seems sure what the cause is yet.  The outages seem to be occurring most often during weekends when their offices are closed.

Perhaps someone needs to be around to empty the bit-bucket more often.

Use Static IP addresses on your laptop, and it will not drop connection/timeout with your WiFi router.

Ah did not think of static ip good idea.
I have order a dlink dir-505 so ICan test this meteobrigde solution.
Think its good not to have a computer occupied all the time.
Hope this is going to work for me.
Still got no history on the wunderstation app for ipad. Sent a mail to support for that.

Still dont understand anything.
Bougth myself a meteobridge and set up with acu link bridge.
Seem to be working nicely.
Got myself a new account on weather underground.

Now I get a lot of dots instead of nice lines on wunderstation.
Seem to be ok on website.
It really bugs the skin of me.

It may just be the way that the iPad app renders the graphs when being fed temperatures twice per minute versus every 15 minutes like MBW does.  Do other PWS graphs look the same in the iPad app?  (I don't have one to see for myself.)  Like you said, it looks good on the WU web site.

One other thought...did you disable MBW from sending their 15-minute update to WU when you put MeteoBridge online?????

I haven't used that app before, but I would guess each dot is one of your reports.  The straight lines connect each report.

Just how fast have you set the reporting?

It was every 30 sec but the last three hours it has been 5 min. Cant see any difference in the space between them. So wonder if it could be the meteobridge just updating in superspeed

That would be my guess.  Did you verify that MB is now updating at 5 minutes by checking the logs or the status screen in the web interface?  Maybe it is still updating every 30 seconds?  Another place that may cause these extra dots is the Rapid Fire protocol has a variable for how frequently you are sending updates.  If MB is telling it that you're sending every 30 seconds even when you are not, it might cause WU's graph algorithm to interpolate the missing spaces. but still put dots in.  Just grasping at straws at this point, since the WU data looked good through the web site.....
