I'm sure glad the decision to land man on the moon was made instead.   "The aim of the project was to detonate a nuclear bomb on the Moon to boost public morale in the United States after the Soviet Union took an early lead in the Space Race."    Say what?!!!

Ever see the movie "Time Machine"? One could only speculate how life on earth would be different. So many life cycles depend or revolve around the tides and moon cycles. What were they thinking?

Wow, a "glow-in-the-dark" moon...could've made night work less cumbersome (wink, wink).

I'm surprised some advertiser hasn't set up a giant "see-from-the-Earth" billboard or lighting sign up there already.

Actually nuclear waste was being stored on the far side of the Moon until 1999 when the stockpile went critical forcing the moon out of orbit to wander through the universe............(re:Space 1999)

The project wasn't to "blow up the moon", it was to detonate one nuclear bomb on the surface. The NBC title and story are misleading.
