Update weather link software
« on: May 27, 2015, 06:01:03 PM »
I use meteobridge but also like the davis weather link software. I just bought the upgrade but when I go to setup then weatherlink network to upgrade it is grayed out. Do I have to reconnect the cable from the station back into the PC instead of the meteobridge to update the subscription? Now I am also wondering if I needed to renew this. Thanks

Which subscription?  Also,  A Meteobridge connected to a Davis Vantage by an Davis data logger (regardless if serial, USB or IP) exposes the Vantage on port 22222 like a Davis IP data logger. This allows other weather programs to also connect to the Davis Vantage and to read data in parallel from it. Only one additional program can read data from the Vantage. Function is a bit similar to the "Virtual Vantage" program that has been offered as a PC solution. Difference is that Meteobridge also supports LOOP2 communication (which "Virtual Vantage" does not) but as a downside Meteobridge can handle only one additional client (instead of 8 like "Virtual Vantage")

I bought the subscription update for the weather link software. I guess I really didn't need it? It was pretty stupid of me to renew it if I didn't need it. I like the look of the weather link network site but still need my PC running to view it. I have WeatherBug and WeatherUnderground receiving data from my Meteobridge. Can I use the Weatherlink software without renewing the subscription? I do have Meteobridge configured to send data via 22222 to Weather Link network but my PC still needs to be on for the data to get to the Weatherlink network site. Thanks for your help. I'm a bit confused right now.

Also am I supposed to configure thru meteobridge or weatherlink software to send the data to weatherlink from the meteobridge. Is the setup correct or do I need to somehow set it up in meteobridge to transfer data direct to weatherlink from meteobridge(if it is possible) Thanks

I think I remember now. Normally Weatherlink would need the station USB plugged direct into my PC. Since the USB from the station is now connected to the Meteobridge I need to use pirt 22222 to connect it to Weatherlink or it would not receive data. I do notice however that my PC must still be running to view my stations data from Weatherlink.
