I did a search for 'story' on the board and found nothing listed, so I hope this isn't a duplicate.
As of about Tuesday of this week I have seen no updates on the 'Weather Story' postings from the various NWS offices. Those were a great way to see the wx and the maps and estimates of precip, severe weather and all was something I couldn't find depicted anywhere else. I've tried various offices, three different browsers, and refreshed my caches in hopes it was loading an old image locally, rather than no updates being done.
It would be a real loss, indeed, to have NWS not produce these graphics any more.
Has anyone a wee bit of insight as to if this is temporary, or we are just out of luck for these data depictions in the future?

Hoping for good news, but I have a bad feeling about this...

There is a new link called WeatherStory. https://www.weather.gov/mpx/weatherstory

Curly,
Thanks for your efforts. The choice of location button you provide is sorely missing on the 'updated' story previously provided.
The ability to check some midwestern states, MN and WI with just a click to go between each of them was great. Sadly, this isn't on a drop down choice box with the current updated product.
Thanks for your efforts. Dale

Found this one last week...

Good link, its still missing many. Once they finish this change over currently underway for last couple months it should all come together.

I looked at https://www.weather.gov/apx/weatherstory (https://www.weather.gov/apx/weatherstory) and found the updated version. My old link that I used in my site pages had a 4/19 date.
I am going to try to use this URL, hopefully this will work: http://www.weather.gov/images/apx/wxstory/Tab2FileL.png (http://www.weather.gov/images/apx/wxstory/Tab2FileL.png) I just right-clicked on the image and copied the URL.
EDIT: it looks like they changed the directory name from ../WxStory to ../wxstory and the file name from FileL.png to Tab2FileL.png. Ah yes, NWS Whak-A-Mole....

This original link http://www.weather.gov/crh/wxstorygrid for your region stopped working last week, but I speculate this must have been temporary since the page went active again this week with all the links updated to the new urls.
The (national) link I posted above had all the Midwest region showing earlier in the week, so they are still working on it.
My wish is the end result would display the national map with all the weather stories on it, which would be very cool & informative to me for quick access to catch-up on where the parameters are if I happen to temporally get my focus diverted.

What about this one that changed to a multi-slide animation in the last few days:

How did you edit your script?
here is how I edited it
$nwswsi = 'http://www.weather.gov/images/'.$wswfo.'/wxstory/File'.$if.'.png'; // weather story image path
But its still not working. If you would have time to show me my error of my ways. I would be great-full
Thanks

Anthony,
I made a similar change as Greg did.
The change is not using the script developed by Curly, he is working on a revised script now.
The page we are currently suing simply pulls the png file from the weather.gov site
For you it would be http://www.weather.gov/images/arx/wxstory/Tab2FileL.png (http://www.weather.gov/images/arx/wxstory/Tab2FileL.png)
And then place the image on a page for your weather story.
It should work, here is mine (similar to Greg's) http://lakehuronweather.org/wxStory.php (http://lakehuronweather.org/wxStory.php)

Yep you bet

Overall their display is nice, but takes awhile to load.
And they do NOT, as of yet, have on the current Story you are viewing, a dropdown list to choose where you want to go next. Therefor you have to, no choice, go back to the first page (mouse click) let the page load, then scroll way down (those little thumbnails take up room) and choose the next site (mouse click) you want to go to.
They had a good thing, but screwed it up somewhat by leaving that feature off. And don't try doing it on your smartphone.
I like the map option that he's designed, now just have to get NWS to stabilize all the URLs.

I'm wondering why there are none for the eastern part of the country. I live in the N.E. and I feel left out!

Is there a fix to this?
