Topic: VP vs VP2 Console Shell

The back half of the case is the same according to this:  Vantage Pro/Pro2 Console Rear Assembly

Does anyone know if the front half is the same (other than the "2" on the VP2)?

I have an old VP console in perfect condition but my second VP2 console that I bought on eBay looks like it has been through a war..... just wondering if I can put the guts from the VP2 into the VP console.

Oh, the screen is scratched up on the VP2 as well ..... also wonder if the outer piece on the LCD assembly is interchangeable.

I got bored and impatient waiting for an answer 

The guts from the VP2 do fit into the VP shell but along with the VP not having the "2", a couple of the buttons and 2nd functions are labeled differently.  I can live with that.

I swapped the LCDs but the VP LCD would not work properly with the VP2 guts.  However, I was able to swap the front "lens" of the LCDs successfully.

Now my battle fatigued second VP2 console looks like brand new
