Hi Brian,
I am well aware of the fact MT does not work well on practically any Apple device, I am not trying to find excuses, but you have to understand that it is like me asking you to develop stuff for something where you cannot test, never see the result... it is close to impossible. As you know yourself, Safari cannot be installed on any device other than an Apple device, not to mention the fact that Safari on iPhone and Ipad might produce different results compared to desktop Safari. If I had an iPad and was able to see the result, I could probably do something about it. Like this... very unlikely, and even if someone sends me a screenshot, it is not that helpful, I can change something, but we are back again in a situation where I cannot see whether the change made any difference. Emailing with someone with an iPad back and forth is absolutely inefficient and will not work in long term anyway.
You are in a sense right, but you look at it from a perspective of a company that offers a product. My situation is slightly different. With very outdated hardware I develop a page primarily for myself (or rather I should say, originally primarily for myself), which others can use if they want to, given I can never guarantee it will work or display nicely. I am not a programmer, I have limited resources, and very limited time, especially when over 50% of the time now goes towards support. With regards to adding new stuff - again, this is now almost exclusively done on direct requests from people. Again, I know you might see this as an excuse, but Im just saying what the current circumstances are and based on experience, it is unlikely to change anytime soon.
Your template is great in that it is very simple and concentrates on that one single page, which on the other hand can be made to perfection. For some this is exactly what they are looking for. Others might prefer more things at the expense of it not always being 100% correctly displayed, and then they might opt for MT. Not once did I recommend your template to people when they thought setting up MT was too complicated. It is simply an alternative.
With 750 users you will never be able to please everyone. Never, especially not in a situation Im in.
However thanks a lot for your feedback and with regards to IE, I never said I will make this change which would result in non-functional page in IE. With regards to Safari - it was obviously never the case I would intentionally make it unusable on iPads etc., there is simply nothing I can do about it, just think about how many hours you spend testing and tweaking yourself and in your case, basically just that one page. It takes time and it requires certain HW and SW to do it. I do the best I can. One particular thing I know does not work in Safari is one of the gauges blocks (fortunately there is an alternative). But when i asked those people if they could at least try to see if they can diagnose the problem, I never got any useful feedback, again putting me into a position where I see something working fine, and being unable to replicate the problem, thus unable to solve it - fixing something that to me works perfectly fine.
