Wow a whopping 0.02 inches  of rain bringing the "Nonsoon Season"  total to 0.24 inches from 4 unimpressive Thunderstorms and now 2012 is the driest on record through July 14th with only 1.58 inches for the year :( Hopefully things will change soon......

I know parts of Arizona including the East Valley of Phoenix today have been getting rain this has been a very disappointing start to the season in North Phoenix!!

0.02" was all I got as well from the 'storm' today, and a whopping 0.04" from the other day. Nonsense...

Quite a couple of storms passed through yesterday for a total of 1.69".  After 69 days without measurable rain, I'm now at 5 days in a row WITH measurable rain!

Very impressive storms indeed yesterday. Below are the rainfall totals from the four stations I operate, with the big winner being the station located at Southern and Dobson in Mesa.

Gold Canyon: 0.32in.
Northeast Mesa: 0.70in.
Northwest Mesa: 0.68in.
Southwest Mesa: 0.87in.

In case you want to see some video from yesterday I made two which can be viewed at the links below:
Time Lapse Of The Storm Moving Into the Apache Junction/Gold Canyon area
Flooding In The Northern Portion Of Apache Junction

Includes four stations across the east valley of Phoenix, Arizona

Nice!  I've had similar totals from stations all around me  the past 2 days but have only managed 0.15in in my gauges, with today's rain being the heaviest (.08in so far).

Cool video and time lapse!  The video looked like it was ready to send into a TV station.  I kept waiting for you to break-in with an on the scene report!  :-)

I'm with most everyone else... .02" out of Saturday's storm. Total of .29" for the season in Northwest Peoria.

I had gone to Pinetop over the weekend in hopes of seeing some weather... Not only didn't it rain, it was perfectly sunny ! What's a guy gotta do to see some rain ?!?!  :-x

Thanks, funny you should mention that, over the past couple weeks have actually been with Channel 12 here in the valley when larger storms come through doing some reports for them on air.

Looks like Centennial Hills got hammered:
Centennial Hills near Buffalo and Grand Teton Drives was one of the worst hit areas. At one point, there were reports of two to three feet of water near the intersection. The area around U.S. 95 and Buffalo Drive, as well as Buffalo Drive and Cheyenne Avenue, also experienced flooding.

Well it looks like North Phoenix got their monsoon yesterday. North Phx got hit by an interesting storm: weather was out of the southeast all day except for the one storm that soaked North Phoenix. It made it as far as Cave Creek (Northeast Phx area) and then took an abrupt left and moved west. With that kind of movement, I thought for sure it was going to spawn some more excitement, but nothing.

For us in the northwest part of the Valley, we got LOTS of dust, constant winds 20 - 30 MPH, and only .14" of rain, most of which was sideways. Cool light show, tho !

Yep - yet another worthless event, Steve. Over here (~A51 & Bell Rd) I got a whopping 0.01" late afternoon (another 0.01" very early morning), and a 30mph gust at 1730. Minor blowing dust, which is unusual for this area.

Whoopie...

The Hype - "MONSOON 2012" - Channel 12 I think needs a geography lesson they keep changing the valley's boundaries just so they hype all the time and make it seem like  all the Valley gets hit with storms everyday.

The truth - "NONSOON 2012" another worthless non eventful day in North Phoenix, I think 10 drops   fell yesterday wasn't much better 0.11 inches from a storm that passed to North via Cave Creek to New River then tried to back in as it was dissipating I think barely made pass the 101 and thanks to the dust everything is coated in mud from another grand old ninety eight pound weakling  #-o thunderstorm

NONSOON totals so far 0.35 inches for July :-( and Whooping 1.69 inches :-( for the year as the driest year on record todate continues!!!

Sorry you aren't getting any rain, but thanks for sending the moisture this way.  After only .22 inches in June, we have gotten 1.28 inches so far in July.

More than I've gotten (even though we're only a few miles apart). 0.91" for the year, 0.18" for July, and both Feb and Jun with 0.00".

Think I'll move to Hilo - donations accepted...

Today looks interesting... NWS shows a converging Low with our current High that will squeeze the moisture into the middle part of the state. Dew points are in the mid-upper 60s and have stayed there all day. Also, a look at radar shows the storms forming up in the mountains are largely stationary. I bet some areas get some wicked flooding. I also bet there will be no love for us in the Valley...

Active day yesterday unfolded nicely and looks like another active day will possibly be on tap today.  Below are my rainfall totals for the storm and for the season thus far:

Station            Storm         Season (from June 15th)
Gold Canyon     0.17in         1.43in
NE Mesa          0.23in         1.45in
NW Mesa         0.32in         1.04in
SW Mesa         0.13in         1.53in

Also, below are two time lapse I created yesterday of a thunderstorm moving into east Mesa and another moving into Fountain Hills.
http://weatherbus.com/weather_discussion/nfblog/?p=384

Overall not bad for those four stations, hope you guys got some rainfall from yesterday!

Boo-Hiss! Got a giant 0.07" last night. Then, right in the middle of that APS decided to lose power for over an hour. Fortunately, the batteries in the console kept up with the "storm" and WD nicely recovered that and all the other data. Nifty!

Got a big ole goose egg on the NW side of town. Didn't even get cloudy, though the dust was a nice weather feature (NOT !).

I'm at .43" for the non-soon and .97" for the year. Pretty pathetic...

Added .28" from a storm that came through yesterday evening. Had a 5 minute burst at a rate of 2"\hr, which was nice to finally see. Now at .71" (Nonsoon) and 1.25" (Year).

I think I'm in competition with John and Jeanette to see who gets the least rain this summer. Go ahead, try to beat me...

Well John, technically I'm not in Arizona, but your stats are beating me...at the moment.  Only 0.26" for July/Monsoon Season and 0.75" for the year.
We are now under a Flash Flood Watch with plenty of moisture streaming NW towards us.  POP's have been increased to 50% through
tonight so fingers crossed.
