I found this Arduino based SMS to scrolling LED display on the net. It would be really cool to have a scrolling weather display available for the Dreamer.

That would also be great for "communicating" with the idiot tailgating you when are driving the same speed as the huge truck in front of you (something the tailgater clearly has no comprehension of)
"Hang Up & Drive" would be a saved message for sure.

WD works with LED scrolling signs (Beta Brite or a chinese alternative)
via a serial port (or USB to serial), i.e via commands sent out that port

I have one of those, it has a bunch of preset messages and a few that you can create in the memory, wish it had keypad for instant message creation!

OK, so I know this thread is old, but............

I want my sign to be bigger than 10"x2" ,   like clear across the rear window of the pickup maybe 48" x 4"    \:D/

then maybe the twit behind me can really get my message!

Please dim your lights ......    Don't follow so close.....   Forget the horn, .357 equipped....
