Danny strengthens to become the first hurricane of the Atlantic season, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Hmm, it was 50mph last night about 7pm when I looked.  Will watch this one...

It is heading straight for St.Croix :shock: where I am moving to in 27 days, 23 hours, 2 minutes and 29 seconds. But I figure it is that it will change course by the time it reaches there.

GDACS has issued an orange alert for Danny based on potential humanitarian impact.

From 18/08/2015 to 20/08/2015, a Hurricane/Typhoon > 74 mph (maximum wind speed of 139 km/h) DANNY-15 was active in Atlantic. The cyclone affects these countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, U.S., Saint Kitts and Nevis (vulnerability Medium). Estimated population affected by category 1 (120 km/h) wind speeds or higher is 0.42 million.

It is a named storm now.....Erika.  45mph winds last reported.
