Post by: 96853 on February 12, 2008, 03:04:22 PM
Hi,
If you ever have the urge to see what the weather's like out way out here in Hawaii, check out my site. Tradewinds Weather.com (http://www.tradewindsweather.com) I'm a huge weather enthusiast and after searching around for about a year and not finding a site to suite my weather needs, I decided to create my own. I don't have live data yet, I'll be getting a personal weather station sometime in the future. Looking forward to chatting all of you.

Thanks everyone. That pic is looking west from Waikiki beach.  8-).  I remember the snow and ice all too well. Grew up in Minnesota and lived in St Louis for a few years before coming out here. I miss the summer storms, but NOT the winters!

HI there.

Minnesota hasn't changed much. I live in the West metro. We spent all weekend in the deepfreeze-My station set a record of -36 wind chill. Tomorrow up to 20, cold again on Thurs and 30 over the weekend.

My site is for my kids to use at school. I am adding to it as I can.

A little joking here: Why do you need to worry about weather in Hawaii?

You're right, there really is not much to worry about when it comes to the weather out here! Not compared to what you guys have to worry about anyway. Is is going to rain...how big the surf is going to be..lol

I spoke to my parents back there yesterday (they live in Inver Grove), they were telling me about those horrific wind chills.  This of course was after we had our normal discussion about why the Vikings are no good and why the Twins can't afford to keep anyone..lol. Looks like the Wild are doing pretty good this year though!

I am not a native Minnesotan-I have only been to one Wild game.

I have a hard time cheering for Minnesota teams-That is why my logo is a Chief. (yes, I know, bad this year)

It is snowing now.  Up to 4 inches.  4 is like a nuicance snow. Not even worth bringing out the snow blower.

I would love to trade places with you for a few weeks.  I could find a beach and a chair and just vegetate for a week or so.  It was -16 here this morning.  Fortunately the wind is calm under an arctic high or the windchill would be unreal.  They are having sled dog racing here this weekend with another winter storm rolling through tomorrow into Monday followed by lake effect snow.  But, at least the sun is higher in the sky every day now so I know it has to warm up sooner or later.

I see you are under a winter storm warning now. We get those issued to us every once in a while here in Hawaii for the snow storms that pass over the summits of the mountains on Maui and the Big Island. It seemed very strange to me the first time I saw that.

That just seems unreal. A winter storm watch/warning in Hawaii.
