WeatherLink CD no longer supplied with data loggers

As no one seems to have mentioned it and I've been asked about it a few times by customers, recent shipments of the WeatherLink IP, USB and Serial will no longer contain a physical CD.

After asking the question to Davis their reply was as follows:

It is now a digital for about the last month.

They are to log in to Weahterlink.com and create an account. Then on the USER pane, the software is available.

So what is really all this push about to have users creating a hit count on WL2, even users who don't own a system?
