Meteobridge has by far the best cost/value ratio. It is basically a cheaper alternative to some proprietary pieces of hardware. It can communicate with dozens of stations, send data to dozens of weather networks, has remote access, uploads to your own server... i mean I can assure you that you will not find a similar product even for a higher price.

Just thinking, are you looking at Meteobridge or Meteobridge PRO? Because yes, Meteobridge PRO is quite expensive, but Meteobridge Standard can do most of what PRO version can do, except it does not have a memory and you need to buy the router yourself, but there are very cheap ones too.

OK, I just checked, so it is 65 euros and this is a one-off payment, no subscription, so you pay once and you can use it as long as you want.

One-time price for license that permits ongoing use when purchased via PayPal is 65 Euro.

Given you previously mentioned you have Davis Pro 2, this really shouldnt be such a problem I think, you dont need the PRO version and you will not find anything like this for a lower price unless you want to try programming this whole thing yourself, which would require very good understanding of Linux etc. and you would need other pieces of equipment to do it anyway.

I have been using Meteobridge for over 5 years now and the reason I chose it was (apart from others) the fact it was the cheapest option.

You previously said:

Hi guys,

I already have a davis pro 2, just 1 month old. I am planning to buy acurite 5 in 1 for comparison purposes.  is it worth it or i'm just throwing money. appreciate comments and tips.

So get MB instead of Acurite... and you will still save a lot of money...

Look at weewx. It can run on a Raspberry Pi.
The Meteobridge PRO is somewhat expensive, but the basic meteobridge program can run on fairly inexpensive routers reconfigured to run it. Unfortunately, the router manufacturers are locking down the ability to overwrite the router application with other images.

If he was planning to buy Acurite 5 in 1 in addition to his one-month old Davis Pro 2, just for comparison purposes, then I really dont think 65E should be a problem. Or if it is, then just dont buy the Acurite, I think it is wasting money if you want to have them side by side just to look at two screens.

Thank you miraculon. I think the TL-MR3020 and the meteobridge is doing great.

I think I totally dont understand you.

So now you are saying you already have it.... so why did you ask about it being too expensive. Also I think if you buy Acurite 5 in 1 just for comparison purposes, then money does not seem to be an issue.

In the other thread, you said 10 minutes ago:

Currently, im using meteobridge

now you want to buy it.... and it is too expensive despite the fact you bought Acurite 5 in 1 just for comparison purposes in addition to your VP2. I dont know, I give up, I dont understand you and what you want/need.

Aha... ok well you should have said that.

Well as I said, if you think it is too expensive, then dont buy Acurite. If you want it just to have it next to VP2, it is total waste of money.

In Meteobridge you can select many options and you dont have to use just one.

So for example, I send data to WU, but also other networks and I send data to my own server where I save it to MySQL.

So it is better to do it this way than to just send to WU and then take it from there. The way I do it means that even if WU is down I have my data on my website.

Thanks, thats great to hear :)
I am also a satisfied Meteobridge user and I have been for over 6 years now. It allowed me to create my own webpage, which later on transformed into Meteotemplate and Meteotemplate DEMO is still completely updated by Meteobridge :) I always wanted to have my own data, my own database and build up on that. It is much more reliable, not dependent on "someone else" (WU etc.) and I can also do much more than WU can.

Creating a webpage is must next trial. I did it in Google but still trying to figure out how to upload my weather station data. I'll get there but it's trying sometimes for an old man. I thank you for your encouragement.

You have several options, MB allows you to upload it to several weather networks without having to set up anything. If you want your own website you will need a PHP script that will process the data from MB, which will send it there via HTTP GET request.

You can either write your own scripts or you can use one of the templates, Meteobridge is supported by all the three - Saratoga, Leuven and Meteotemplate

No script is needed for HTML templates.  As in http://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/Push_Services (scroll down to the FTP Dashboard Sample section)

Yes, sorry you are right of course, you can use the default Meteobridge built-in templates, I never used it myself so completely forgot about it :D
