How to orient WS-1090?
« on: August 26, 2012, 09:27:58 AM »
Hey guys,

I am a bit confused on how I should orient the weather station. The instructions only further this confusion for me.

Right now, I have the wind vane mounting arm pointing due north, while the wind cups are to the south.  Is this correct?

There should be a mark on the unit that is to be pointed north.

And if you put the station together yourself without noting the invisible marking :(
This is a good question.  Which arm should point North the cups or the pointer?

There is a small "N" on the base of the wind vane, the N should be pointed true north. I marked mine with a marking pen to make it more visable for alignment purposes.

In my case, the direction arm is pointed west and the cup arm is east.

The wind vane and the direction arm refer to the same thing. Look for the north indicator on the housing of this device. Rotate the vane housing to the north.
